Our Ministries

Christ commands us in the Great Commission to spread the gospel far and wide (Matthew 28:16-20). The Great Commission is integral to fulfill God’s plan for His church. Emmanuel Baptist Church was founded upon the command of the Great Commission.

As such, Emmanuel Baptist Church strives to reach the city of Grand Rapids with the Gospel. We go into the highways and byways seeking those who desire to know the Lord as their Savior.

global missions

Christ commands us in the Great Commission to spread the gospel to all nations (Matthew 24:19). Unfortunately, we cannot minister to the entire globe in person.

Therefore, Emmanuel Baptist Church partners with missionaries around the world to get the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth. In this way, we can be a witness where we are not; allowing us to go in proxy where we can not go in person.

Food Pantry

Emmanuel Baptist Church has always had a heart for those who are hurting. To seize opportunities to minister to those experiencing hunger, we prepare each week to meet the material needs of our community. We also open our doors to meet their spiritual needs as well.

Please contact our church at any time if you or someone you know could be blessed by assistance with food.

We firmly believe that everyone who desires to come to church should be able to get there. For generations, scores of precious souls have ridden a bus to Emmanuel Baptist Church from the city of Grand Rapids.

Only Heaven can tell the story of the impact of being brought to church on a bus. As others brought the children and the lame to Jesus, we purpose to bring folks to Jesus every Sunday.

If you need a ride, please contact us at (616) 647-4088.

Teens Ministry

Teens Ministry

The youth is the future of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and it is our duty to equip them to handle the challenges they will face in this world. But young people also need a place to socialize with their peers, share laughter and memories, and grow in Christ.

We seek to provide such a place for our youth. We do this in a variety of ways - through our Sunday School classes, our youth groups, and organized activities.

Sunday School

Sunday School

We all need to know a bit more of God’s Word-no matter how young or old we are. Sunday school is an engaging opportunity for us to be more knowledgeable in the things of God and thus better servants of Christ.

Digital Ministry

We serve the community both in person and online. Our online presence serves the same purpose as our physical presence. But it enables us to proclaim God’s message to a much wider audience.

Our church uses different ways of getting the message of Christ out to the community digitally. For instance, we broadcast our services regularly and we are active on social media. We aim to enable the community to not only know who we are, but to know who Christ is, even if they can never visit us in person.

Discipleship

Foundations Discipleship

Foundations Discipleship provides a one-on-one opportunity for new Christians to learn the fundamental tenets of Christianity with another believer, centered on the teaching from the Word of God.

For those more mature in the faith, this provides an opportunity to grow deeper roots and understanding of what and why we believe as we do.

Will You Go to Heaven?

Salvation is a free gift of God. The death of Christ on the cross is the only sufficient payment for our sins. All have sinned, but all can be saved. This salvation is available for any who puts their trust in Christ as Savior and follows Him (Romans 3:23, 6:23; John 3:16).
